Welcome Family and Friends

The Vermeer Family consists of Fred ("Freek") and Vicki Vermeer, Vanessa v.d. Weerthof, Chad Robinson and Casi Robinson. At this moment Fred, Vicki and Casi reside in North Carolina while Vanessa and her family live in The Netherlands and Chad's wife and children reside in Tennessee.

Frederik (Freek in Holland and Fred in the U.S.) was born in Utrecht, The Netherlands to Gijsbert Vermeer and Janke Rijnke van der Meulen (Vermeer). He married Geertruida (Ria) v. d. Ruit in 1975. They had a daughter named Vanessa Rebecca Vermeer in 1978. Fred has one sister, who still lives in Holland. Her name is Johanna Hendrika Vermeer (Vontenie) She is married to Ronald (Ron) Vontenie and they have two children, Quint Vontenie and Byou Vontenie. Fred married Vicki Lynn Lanier in October 1994 and they currently reside in Cary, North Carolina in the United States. Fred served in the Dutch Army from 1976 to 1977 with the 336 Inf. Bev Cie. He received a honorable discharge as Captain (click here to see a picture) as a reservist in 1987 (see www.Dienstmakkers.nl for more information). Fred holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utrecht and also holds a degree in Economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Vicki Lynn Lanier was born in Savannah, Georgia to Wilber F. Lanier and Dorothy A. Lanier. Vicki has three siblings: Sharon Lanier Brannen, Gary Franklin Lanier, and Kim(berly) Sue Lanier. Vicki married Charles Thomas Robinson and they have a son Chad Thomas Robinson and a daughter Casi Victoria Robinson. On October 14, 1994 Vicki married Frederik (Fred) Johannes Gijsbert Vermeer. Vicki won the Miss Southeast Bulloch High School beauty pageant in 1976. Recently she attended her 25th reunion of the Miss SEB beauty pageant. To see Vicki's big moment on Broadway click here. After working for 18 years at Brooks Instrument as an Administrative Assistant, Vicki went back to school to get her Accounting degree. She received her degree on December 15, 2001 from Tennessee Technological University (TTU) and graduated Magna Cum Laude. In 2003 she passed her CPA exam and she received her CPA certification in May of 2005. She is currently employed as the Accountant for Albemarle Properties, LLC and GMP Corp, Inc. in North Carolina. Vanessa Rebecca Vermeer (v.d. Weerthof) was born in 1978 in Veenendaal, Holland to Frederik Johannes Gijsbert Vermeer and Geertruida (Ria) v.d. Ruit (Vermeer). On November 26, 1998 she married GertJan v.d. Weerthof, Gertjan has one sister: Ingrid. In 2002, Vanessa and Gertjan had their first child, David Daniel van de Weerthof.

Chad Thomas Robinson was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1988 to Charles Thomas Robinson and Vicki Lynn Lanier (Vermeer). In August 2007 Chad married Whitley Carr, they had a son Christopher Aiden Robinson in 2008. In May 2010 Chad was killed in a tragic car accident. Chad and Whitley's daughter Avery was born in 2010

Casi Victoria Robinson was born in 1992 in Statesboro, Georgia to Vicki Lynn Lanier (Vermeer) and Charles Thomas Robinson Her hobbies are competitive cheerleading, swimming, kickball, arts and crafts, and skating. Casi loves horses and she is also involved in many sports. She graduated from East Carolina University in December 2014 and is now working at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC..
